Our purpose
Helping people become deeply rooted in God and connected to one another.
Mission
PsalmOneThree creates opportunities for rest, fellowship, and deeper engagement with Scripture through an accessible retreat home and free Bible study resources.
Vision
People and communities nourished by God, strengthened through fellowship, and growing in understanding across Christian traditions.
Our founding purpose
Our articles of incorporation, filed with the State of Florida in June 2024, state the purpose the ministry was organized for:
“We exist to create an atmosphere of refuge and retreat for families and friends to fellowship together in God's creation with limited financial burden.”
The retreat home is the direct expression of that purpose. The Bible study app grew from the same hope—that people would find room to be rooted and connected—and extends it to small groups wherever they meet.

“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:3, King James Version
Why Psalm 1:3
PsalmOneThree began with a home beside a river and a conviction that it could serve a greater purpose. As our founder, Aaron Marshall, considered purchasing the property, he understood that it would serve ministry rather than generate rental income. Within a few days, several people independently shared Psalm 1:3 with him. The picture of a tree planted beside water became a personal confirmation of the decision—and the name of the ministry. It is Psalm one, verse three; not Psalm thirteen.
We tell this as one founder's experience of discernment, not as a promise about what anyone else will experience here.
What we hold
We are openly Christian. In brief, we hold that:
- God is Creator.
- God is Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus is God; his life, death, resurrection, and ascension are the shared foundation of Christian faith.
- Hospitality creates room for people to rest, reflect, and connect.
- Financial barriers should not put retreat beyond a family's reach.
- Christians can seek understanding across traditions while keeping their convictions.
- Greater depth calls for careful sources, humility, and openness to correction.
- Welcome carries no pressure to donate or to tell a public story.

Who owns what
Serious supporters ask this, so we answer it plainly.
The retreat home is privately owned and made available for ministry use with the support of PsalmOneThree. The ministry does not own the house.
The surrounding property—including the river frontage and walking trails guests may use—is owned and operated by There Is More Ministries, a separate nonprofit with its own mission. The two organizations have overlapping board members, distinct purposes, and no financial connection. PsalmOneThree does not own or control those acres.
The Bible study app (beta working title: Through Every Lens) is developed for PsalmOneThree with paid development support and is offered free of charge.
Governance details, our IRS determination, and how designated gifts are handled are on the stewardship and FAQ page.
