Stewardship and frequently asked questions

Who we are legally, how the ministry is governed, how gifts are handled, and how to ask for more.

Questions people ask

Who owns the retreat home?

The home is privately owned and made available for ministry use with the support of PsalmOneThree. The ministry does not own the house. Before any renovation gift is accepted, the arrangement between the ministry and the owner—who approves spending, and how the improvement supports continued ministry access—is documented and available to serious donors on request.

What is the relationship with There Is More Ministries?

There Is More Ministries (also known as Living Waters) owns and operates the property surrounding the home, including the river access and trails guests may use. It is a separate nonprofit with its own mission. The two organizations share some board members and have no financial connection. PsalmOneThree does not own or control that property, and guests of the retreat home are welcome on it as permitted by its owner.

Can I direct my gift to the app or the retreat?

Yes. Choose the matching button on the Give page or note the designation with your gift. Designated gifts are tracked separately and spent only on the work named. Undesignated gifts are applied where the board judges the need greatest, and we say which area that was in our updates.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

PsalmOneThree, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity and the IRS has determined that contributions are deductible under section 170. Deductibility in your own situation depends on your circumstances; we are not tax advisors, so please check with yours.

How is the Bible study app's research done?

AI supports the current research and every passage lists its sources so readers can check them. The beta has not yet had independent scholarly review; building that review process is the next funding priority. We publish the app's beta status, scope, use of AI, and limitations on the app page.

I found an error in the app. What happens if I report it?

Send the passage reference and what you believe is wrong. Corrections are reviewed against sources, the passage is updated if warranted, and we track how many corrections we receive and how quickly they are resolved.

How do I request a retreat stay?

Use the contact form and choose “retreat inquiry.” We follow up privately. Families who could not otherwise afford time away receive priority; group stays depend on availability. There is no instant booking.

Do you use guest stories or photos?

Only with informed permission. Guests do not owe us a testimonial, may remain anonymous, and may review how they are portrayed before anything is published. We obtain appropriate permission for photographs, especially those involving children.

Are you accepting volunteers?

Not through a general program. If you have specific, relevant skills, tell us about them and we will be honest about whether there is useful work.

Where can I see your financials?

Our annual IRS filing and determination letter are available on request, and we send project reports to supporters when milestones occur. As the ministry grows we intend to publish an annual summary on this page.
