Room to rest by the river.

A riverfront home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, offered for stays of up to seven days. Families who could not otherwise afford time away receive priority. Church small groups and ministers are welcome as availability allows.

A family of five standing together on the gravel riverbank in spring sunshine, the river beside them and the retreat home's porches on the hillside behind.

The home

Deep porches look down on a clear, shallow river. The home sleeps 17 and is furnished with the basic household necessities, so that a family can arrive with groceries and settle in.

Outside, there is a stone fire pit under string lights, and guests may use the river access and walking trails across the surrounding property, which is owned and operated by a neighboring ministry, There Is More Ministries.

The home is privately owned and made available for ministry with the support of PsalmOneThree. It is not a resort, and we do not pretend otherwise: it is a well-loved house in a beautiful place, kept ready for people who need it.

Who the home is for

Lodging cost is often the thing that keeps a family under everyday pressure from taking meaningful time away. The home exists to remove that cost. Families who could not otherwise afford a retreat receive priority when dates are scheduled.

Church small groups and ministers are also welcome to inquire. Group stays depend on availability, and families facing financial barriers come first.

Need is discussed privately and respectfully. Guests are never asked to tell their story publicly, to give, or to sign up for anything as a condition of staying.

If someone in your group has access needs

The home is a multi-story house on a hillside. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair or has other mobility, sensory, or medical considerations, mention it in your inquiry and we will tell you honestly what the home can and cannot accommodate before you plan a trip.

What a stay costs

Here is what guests cover and what they don't.

  • Cleaning fee, once per stayA small flat fee, confirmed when you inquire
  • FoodGuests buy their own
  • Travel to and from the homeGuests arrange their own
  • Basic household necessitiesProvided

A gift toward lodging is welcome from those who can give one; it is never expected, and no one is asked. Availability is limited and stays are scheduled by conversation, not instant booking.

How a stay comes together

  1. Ask

Send a short inquiry with your group size and the dates you have in mind. Tell us as much or as little about your situation as you are comfortable sharing.

  2. We talk

We follow up privately to understand what you need and to walk through what the home offers, including the cleaning fee and practical details.

  3. Plan your stay

Once dates are confirmed, you receive arrival instructions, a short house guide, and a contact for anything that comes up during your stay.
